Mexico, the first nation in North America on our list, contributes 7.7 million pounds (3.5 million kg) of plastic bottles, bags, and other items annually.

Egypt, which annually dumps 5.5 million pounds (2.5 million kg) of plastic into our priceless water supplies, is the only African nation in the top 10 worst offenders.

Each year, 5.5 million pounds (2.4 million kg) of terrible plastic are released into aquatic bodies by the United States and Egypt.

Japan is the source of four million pounds (1.84 million kg) of plastic waste that contaminates our waters each year.

The United Kingdom is guilty of dumping 1.5 million pounds (0.7 million kg) of plastic into the ocean annually, while ranking last on our list.
