Olivia Dunne shows LSU how it's done with 3-pointer ahead of Iowa showdown

Olivia Dunne has added “dual-sport athlete” to her stellar resume. Before No. 3-seed LSU's NCAA Tournament Elite Eight match versus No. 1-seed Iowa, the star influencer and other Tiger gymnasts showed off their basketball abilities.

Dunne, Savannah Schoenherr, and Kiya Johnson rained shots at Pete Maravich Assembly Center in a brief Instagram video. The Tigers women's basketball team, which plays the Hawkeyes Monday night at MVP Arena in Albany, NY, was absent.

Dunne first showed off her dribbling skills. Schoenherr and Johnson then made back-to-back 3-pointers, jumping and using three fingers to celebrate.

Dunne saved the best for last, banked in a 3-point shot from across the court and rushing toward the camera. One admirer mocked the bucket, saying, “Did Livvy call bank tho?”

One person said, “yall in the wrong sport.” Others praised the gymnasts' basketball skills. Two individuals commented, “The whole school can hoop lol” and “lsu dub confirmed.” Others saw the video as a sign of an LSU March Madness win.

LSU women have become some of the nation's most successful student athletes in recent years. Dunne, Angel Reese, and Flau'jae Johnson are No. 3, 8, and 17 on the NIL Top 100 with NIL valuations of $3.6 million, $1.8 million, and $1.1 million, respectively, according to On3.

After LSU's stunning 78-69 Sweet 16 win against No. 2 UCLA, Reese dismissed suggestions that the Tigers weren't close. “Apparently people thought we were just a bunch of individuals so we took that personal,” she told reporters.

“We do have stars on our team, and people don't think we should gel. Our team has bonded all year. Sometimes it's me, sometimes Neese, sometimes Flau'jae. People don't realize there are that many players every night.

We don't care who scores—our goal is the title. I still trusted my crew. I knew they would come out and keep playing because we have fantastic players. Best team won tonight. The best team members also won. Let’s clarify.”
