Lainey Wilson and Kelly Clarkson Prove ‘Country's Cool Again' With Kellyoke Duet

Country is cooler than ever as Lainey Wilson and Kelly Clarkson duet on "Country's Cool Again." Wilson sang the song on The Kelly Clarkson Show from his current studio album of the same name.

Clarkson's Kellyoke segment has been Lainey Wilson-themed for weeks. This season, the host covered Jelly Roll's "Save Me," which features Wilson, and "Watermelon Moonshine."

Clarkson has covered Keith Whitley, Chris Stapleton, Bailey Zimmerman, and others' country songs this season.

I'm honored to sing with you. "I'm excited for your career," Clarkson said Wilson after their performance. Just a big fan. She rocks." Wilson also discussed her songwriting and why Dolly Parton inspires her in an interview.

"In my hometown, country music is a lifestyle. "It's cool to see Western culture becoming cool," she said. "The epidemic probably contributed. I think many folks recognized they needed to feel anchored and at home, and country music does that."

She added: "The country genre is booming right now; it's cool to watch, and I'm pleased to be a part of it. Nobody looks or sounds alike, has the same narrative, or comes from the same background. I'm proud to be in this country music generation."
